Robust Reading Challenge on Arabic Scene Text Detection & Script Identification

A competition that evaluates algorithms for detecting Arabic text in natural scene images and identifying its script. Participants will work with the ACIT-C dataset, which contains approximately 3,078 images. Performance will be assessed using word-level text detection metrics.

BrainAgenticthon: Agentic AI for Brain Health & Neuro-disorder Analysis

Develop an AI system that detects, characterizes, and classifies brain conditions using medical data. All systems will be evaluated on the same blinded 3D brain MRI benchmark, allowing teams to compare their results. Teams may use deep learning, transformers, multimodal methods, ensembles, or agentic AI.

Teams must submit a containerized prototype for blind testing and present a live pitch and demonstration at ACIT 2026. Responsible AI requirements include explainability, calibrated uncertainty, privacy protection, and fairness awareness. Agentic systems must also demonstrate a way to detect and reduce hallucinations.

Team size: 2–4 members

Key dates

  • Registration, team formation, and abstract submission: 15 October 2026

  • Prototype submission: 30 October 2026

  • Finalists notified: 15 November 2026

  • Registration fee payment: 22 November 2026

  • Live pitch and demonstration: 9 December 2026

Top teams may contribute to a joint challenge paper for submission to a medical imaging journal.
