    Prof. Mohammad S. Obaidat
Professor Obaidat is an internationally well-known scientist/engineer/academic. He is a tenured full Professor of Computer Science at Monmouth University, NJ, USA. Among his previous positions are Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Director of the Graduate Program at Monmouth University and a faculty members at the City University of New York. He has received extensive research funding and has published over one hundred and seventy five (175) refereed technical articles. 

Professor Obaidat has served as a consultant for several corporations worldwide. He is the chief editor of the International Journal of Communication Systems published by John Wiley. He is also an associate editor/ editorial board member of seven other refereed scholarly journals including four IEEE Transactions. He has guest edited five special issues of the SIMULATION Journal. He also guest edited a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, SMC, on Neural Network Applications. Currently, he is guest editing four other special issues of scholarly international journals published by Wiley, IEEE and Elsevier. Professor Obaidat has served as the steering committee chair and the program chair of the 1995 IEEE Int'l Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, ICECS'95, and as the program chair of the 1996 IEEE International Phoenix Conference on Computers and Communications, IPCCC'96. He served as the Vice General Chair of the 1997 IEEE Int'l Performance, Computing and Communications Conference and the General and Program Chair of the 1997 SCS Summer Computer Simulation Conference. He also served as Vice Program Chair for the 1997 IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks, IC3N'97. Professor Obaidat has served as the General Co-Chair of the 1998 IEEE International Performance, Computing and Communications Conference. He is the founder of the IEEE/SCS Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems, SPECTS and has served as the SPECTS'98 General Chair. He has served as the General Chair of the 1998 Summer Computer Simulation Conference, SCSC'98. He served also as the General of the 1999 Symposium on the Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems, SPECTS'99 and the 1999 Summer Computer Simulation Conference, SCSC'99. He is the General Chair of SPECTS'2k and the Steering Committee Chair of SCSC'2k. He will be the General Chair of SPECTS'2001 and Steering Committee Chair of SCSC'2001. Professor Obaidat will be also the Vice Chair of the International Conference on Parallel Processing, ICPP'2001. He has served on the program, advisory, organizing and steering committees of numerous IEEE, ACM and SCS international conferences. Professor Obaidat has received a recognition certificate from IEEE. He is listed in many who's who listings including who's who in the world (13th and 14th ed.), who is who in Science and Engineering (3rd ed.), who's who in America (51st ed.), Dictionary of International Biography (24th ed.), Men of Achievements (17th ed.), and 5,000 personalities of the world (5th ed.). Between 1994-1997, he has served as distinguished speaker/visitor of IEEE Computer Society.  He is serving now as ACM distinguished Lecturer. Between 1996-1999, Professor Obaidat has served as a program evaluator of the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board/Commission, CSAB/CSAC. He is the founder and first Chairman of SCS Technical Chapter (Committee) on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems, PECTS. He is a member of the board of directors of the Society for Computer Simulation International. He has been invited to lecture and consult worldwide.  His research interests are: Performance evaluation of computer systems, algorithms and networks, computer and telecommunications networking, high performance and parallel computing/computers, applied neural networks and pattern recognition, computer Security, and speech processing. He is a senior member of IEEE, and SCS.
